How Can Water Help You Lose Pounds?

So you have got the diet clean and healthy and you have been following your exercise program for a month now but you are getting discouraged with the results of your weight loss so far. The fact is you may not be consuming enough water. It sounds stupid really because all you ever read about to maximise your weight loss is to follow a good calorie controlled clean diet and exercise but not many people mention water. Water is in fact one of the most important aspects of any weight loss plan and its vital fuel for your bodies vital organs to not only to work but recover quickly.

The hard part is sticking to your new diet plan and exercise program and you may have achieved this already but by not consuming enough water you could actually be hindering the process and your results. Let me explain. You may of heard of the process and system that takes place inside of your body called "metabolism". Well there is in fact many forms of metabolism inside of your body but in this case the most important one when it comes down to weight loss is your metabolism of fat. Now one of the vital organs within your body known as the liver is the main component in metabolising the fat within your body by taking your stored fat and making it available as energy to be burned away. Now with this process that the liver carries out it allows you to effectively burn away all that excess fat on your body producing weight loss.

Now you might be thinking what water has to do with this. Well another vital job for your liver is to help out the kidneys within your body and effectively help do there job when they are not doing there job properly. Your kidneys actually thrive on water and when they are deprived of the fluid they slack off and your liver is left to pick up where they left off which effectively pulls the liver from the job of metabolising your stored fat. So by keeping your body well watered providing your vital organs including your kidneys with the water they thrive, it then assists each and every organ to focus on there own jobs keeping your body ticking over nicely. Deprive it and the organs within your body will not work to there maximum potential which in this case is to assist you with weight loss.

You should be aiming to get 8 glasses of water a day into your body which isn't a lot when you think about it but as with anything the more the better. If you are currently overweight a further 8 glasses per extra 25 pounds worth of body weight is advisable.

Not only for your weight loss endeavours drinking water daily will have huge benefits to your well being and is great for the skin and a clear mind. Sacrifice that cup of coffee in the morning for a cold glass of water and see if you can feel the difference. The main point to remember is that water is your friend and is there to help your body, deprive it and you will hinder the process of weight loss but by applying this simple rule it just adds more armoury to your arsenal in the fight against fat.

It is important to use water in your weight loss plan and following a program with this can be the difference in the physique you are aiming for. Visit http://www.weight-loss-made-easy.com for more info, great advice and programs.

Sensible Weight Loss Whilst Breast Feeding

Many women have a hard time losing weight post pregnancy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

"I've always believed if it took you 9 months to gain it, give yourself 9 months to get rid of it"

Have NO high expectations of this quick weight loss diets and fads, as it could be detrimental to your health and of your child's. Enjoy the time you have with no worry or hassles in the first few weeks as this time is best spent bonding with your new baby, and for you to recover mentally and physically after the birth.

Breastfeeding is the most natural and healthy way of nourishing your new baby. A mother's breast milk provides sufficient nutrients and a certain amount of antibodies from the mother that may help the baby to resist infections.

A mother has to eat double the amount of calories per day to sustain a high quality supply of breast milk. But don't let that fool you into eating whatever is in sight. By simply making sure that you remain well nourished by eating a healthy diet, gentle exercise and eating small snacks regularly and at least drinking 2 litres of water a day.

These things combined have shown to assist in gradual weight loss whilst providing an adequate supply of quality breast milk for your baby.

Breast milk is the primary source of food for a baby up until the age of 6mths that's when the infants iron stores are starting to run low. This is when solids are slowly introduced.

During this 6 month period and beyond, breastfeeding has many health benefits for the mother. One being the closeness that a mother and baby feel while feeding, the calming effect it has on him/her and the retracting of the mother's uterus, back to post pregnancy size.

For many mothers breastfeeding along with a healthy diet is the perfect combination for steady weight loss.

Breastfeeding places a great demand on mother's blood sugar supply and if the diet is not adequate in complex carbohydrate foods, sugar cravings and extreme hunger may occur.

By eating 3 healthy small portioned meals a day with snacks in between you will be soon on your way to a slimmer you. Eating every two to three hours helps maintain a good blood sugar supply and controls hunger.

Some simple suggestions for snack foods are:

Full Fat Yoghurt's Lots of fresh fruit & vegetables Rice crackers and cheeses At least 2 litres of water per day

Foods to avoid when the cravings attack are:

Refined foods i.e. fast foods Low fat foods (not giving you the calories to supply quality milk) Sweet biscuit, cakes Soft drinks, coffee & cordials

Don't expect the weight to just drop off, it takes time we all know that, but by following these basic steps you will be heading in the right direction to a slimmer you.

Cardio Increases Appetite

Does aerobic training burn fat? It should, but why are so many people still overweight, no matter how much long slow exercise they do? Cardio exercise is such a strange thing. In theory, it should work so perfectly well for all men and women, but as anyone who has tried it knows, the practicality of it just doesn't add up.

After all, some men and women do cardio 6 hours, 9 hours, or more per week, and still have belly fat to burn. On the other hand, it works just fine for others. And you know who it works best for? Young, fit males. The guys who don't need any help! Young guys can workout all day long, they have nothing else to do. The guys who have a fast metabolism, exercise a lot, and have plenty of muscle.

It works for them, but does it work for you? Probably not. British researchers wanted to get more insight into this paradox, and studied 35 overweight men and women, who weren't previously exercising.

(Reference: International Journal of Obesity 32: 177-184, 2008).

Subjects exercised 5 times per week for 12 weeks. That's a lot of exercise, but it helped the subjects lose an average of 8.You should lose a lot of weight with cardio - if it worked. So cardio will work for some people, however, in my experience, it works best in young men, who need the help the least!

Back to the study, the variance in fat loss between individuals was huge. Check this out...

The best subject lost a staggering 32.3 pounds in 12 weeks, while the worst subject actually GAINED 3.74 pounds. The scientists think they know where things went sour. They classified the subjects into 2 groups, called the "Compensators" and the "Non-compensators".

The Compensators were hungrier, and as a result consumed an extra 268 calories per day, all but wiping out their cardio efforts. Therefore, the Compensators lost the least amount of weight, and scientists believe that was due to the huge "compensatory" increase in appetite experienced by this group.

Does your appetite increase when you do slow cardio? Cardio might increase your appetite.

So if your cardio program is not working for you, check your appetite and calorie intake to see if you are "compensating" for your efforts. If you are, you might be better off using a program of high-intensity resistance and interval training (i.e. Turbulence Training) for your weight loss efforts.

Researchers have proven intervals burn fat. And increased catecholamines can reduce appetite, among other fat- burning benefits. In the real world, few people lose 33 pounds after 12 weeks of cardio. Heck, few even achieve an average weight loss of 8 pounds with aerobic exercise.

So again, check your appetite, and consider giving high-intensity exercise a go for your next workout program. Beat the curse of cardio with high-intensity fat burning workouts that don't use cardio.

Discover the cardio-free fat burning workouts and the bodyweight exercises that burn belly fat.

Weight Loss Diets and Tips

Studies in recent years about obesity and overweight tendencies in human beings have shown that people who are obese and over-weight are consuming food, which is more than their actual energy requirements.

One needs to have a balanced caloric intake in order to balance the energy proportion in his/her body. People who are very eagerly trying for weight loss need to make wiser choices while consuming food and be more active. Weight loss cannot be achieved without calorie control.

Here are few weight loss diet tips for you:

  • You can adopt for yourself the weight loss diet of calorie control intake by consuming measures of food that have low calories such as most of the vegetables, fruits or fresh vegetable soups.

  • You would also need to reduce your intake of alcohol, added sugars and fatty foods. You need not stop eating food with calories all together.

  • You can pick fat-free or low fat products, whole grains, fruits and vegetables to ensure that your body is not deprived of the vital nutrients in your zeal for a weight loss diet.

An ideal weight loss diet would be one that would have an item from each food group such as fiber, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and other nutrients that have lesser amount of calories.

You need to strictly reduce your sodium, cholesterol, saturated fats and trans fats intake to achieve a healthy weight loss.

Diet control is always the first and best option for weight loss. The weight loss diet, which you should follow, should include fat, carbohydrates and protein, each containing 25-30% calories, 45-65% calories and 10-35% calories respectively.

All those weight loss diets, which have very low or very high amount of fat; carbohydrates or proteins are not advisable. You need to bring about a gradual change in your lifestyle in order to reduce your weight and maintain it steadily.

The Perfect Squat - I'll Show You How

The squat is one of the foundational strength training exercises and performing it correctly is very important. When you perform the squat correctly, you protect your lower back from strain and activate the largest muscle groups in your body (legs). If you are just beginning an exercise program or if you aren't sure how to perform the basic squat, I recommend practicing with only your body weight. Begin by standing with feet shoulder width apart (for some reason when I say this to women, they often stand with their feet about twice as wide as their shoulders, just be cognizant that most women do not have broad shoulders and your stance might be a little to wide).

Once your feet are set, check your posture and make sure your body is in alignment. An easy way to do this is to imagine that a string is connected to the top of your head pulling you gently upward. Your shoulders should be down and slightly back, abdominals should be slightly tightened, knees should be soft, and your chin should be parallel to the ground.

Before you begin the squat, shift the majority of your body weight into your heals and keep it there throughout the entire movement. Engage the abdominal muscles to protect the lower back then lower and lift your body weight by bending at the hip, knee, and ankle joints. Stand with a mirror in front of you and to the side of you and monitor yourself as you perform the movement. As you move up and down, look into the mirror at your side and keep an eye on your knees. Knees should be just over the toes or slightly behind them. If your knees are being forced forward over the toes, it means that your body weight has shifted from heals to toes (doing this can put unnecessary strain on your knee joint)

Often when people first learn the squat, keeping their body weight in the heals for the entire movement causes them to be off balance. As you do it more and more, your stability will improve and you will feel the glute muscles doing most of the work. Another thing to watch for is your knee tracking. What I mean by that is when you look straight into a mirror, your knees should remain in alignment with your toes. If you notice your knees bowing out or buckling inward you should reduce your range of motion to a point where the knee tracking is correct. Once you feel comfortable doing a body weight squat, you can add weight while performing the movement.

You can use dumbbells, cables, resistance tubing, or a smith machine. Dumbbells can be held at your sides or you can rest them on your shoulders. Notice that even though I have made the squat more difficult by adding a weighted barbell, I still maintain the same good form throughout the entire exercise. Before you decide to add weight to your squat, make sure you feel comfortable performing the basic squat with just body weight. You'll know you're doing it right when you feel your glute muscles working throughout the movement and your abdominals are tightened from beginning to end.

Once you're ready to add some resistance to this exercise, begin with a low weight. I recommend starting with a lightweight dumbbell, resistance band, or cables. From there you can move to the smith machine and then a freeweighted barbell. There are a few variations of the basic squat that allow you to focus more on the quadriceps. The movement demonstrated here focuses on strengthening the glutes.

A Weight Loss Pill That Works

If you are currently in the market for a weight loss pill that works then you have probably seen the same names thrown around. This is especially true if you have been looking at the over the counter prescription weight loss pills. There are however all natural herbal supplements that will help you lose weight just as good and in most cases better.

The most popular all natural weight loss pill available right now is Proactol. Proactol has been backed by doctors and is even recommended as one of the "Top 5 Way to Lose Weight" by The Telegraph which is the most popular newspaper in Britain.

Utilizing the power of herbal medicine, Proactol is able to work in ways that traditional weight loss pills have failed. The first benefit of going all natural is that there are no side effects what so ever. Everything in an all natural pill is just that, all natural. No need to worry about the side effects that you hear come with the pills you see advertised and talked about on TV.

Proactol is able to work as both an appetite suppressant and fat binder. Utilizing these two important factors, you are guaranteed to lose weight. The appetite suppressant will "fool" your brain and stomach into thinking you are full. Because you don't crave food when you feel full, an appetite suppressant can make it easier for you to lose weight. Proactol is also able to bind to 28% of dietary fat which means that of all the fat that enters your body daily, 28% will never affect you!

I was looking for a weight loss pill that worked and found Proactol. It was the best purchase I made so give it a try and order Proactol today

Laxatives For Weight Loss

Laxatives are initially used to cure constipation and such. But nowadays, these laxatives are selling hot off the shelves for the purpose of weight loss. Many women now view laxatives as the new weight loss pill and they are popping them in desperate attempt to get the desired figure.

When these laxatives are taken in excess, they can cause several side effects such as bloody diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. It is definitely not an ideal way to a healthy and long lasting weight loss.

The purpose of the laxative is to increase the bowel activity. At the same time, they would disallow the large intestine to absorb food. If these laxatives are taken in large amount over a greater period of time, it can lead to greasy diarrhea, and hence resulting in weight loss. However, one must remember that the consumption laxatives can also cause damage to certain organs of the body.

These laxatives help to remove water from the system, hence causing rapid weight loss. But the weight loss is only temporary. As you re-hydrate your body, the weight will come back in an instant. At the same time, if your body gets too dehydrated, you might suffer from other very serious health problems.

Laxatives consumers failed to realize that they actually lose more than just their weight. There are so many health risks relating to the consumption of laxatives and many of these are fatal. A study conducted by the Eating Disorders Association stated that 1 out of 5 women consumed weight-inducing laxatives. The figures for male consumers were much less. More appalling is the fact that most laxative users remain unaware of its massive health risks especially since laxatives are relatively cheap and can be easily purchased anywhere.

The most popular laxative product available in the market takes the form of tea. These form of laxatives are very affordable. Slimming tea and dieter's tea may seem to be very effective, but what they failed to know is that it can actually harm them. These products help to ensure swift bowel movement and aids in the removal of toxins. It is best if one choose a slimming tea that is made up of herbal products, as they can be quite beneficial.

These laxatives in the form of slimming teas does not have a direct effect on the woman's fertility and menstrual cycle, but they should watch out as drinking these can cause them to shed off weight rapidly, and this can be very unhealthy and dangerous for their body.

These laxatives have more negative effects than the positives. It is best if one does not consider taking laxatives as part of losing weight the easy way. Laxatives and weight loss is a lethal combination and it does not work! So, do try to avoid it at all costs.

Making Sense of the Weight Loss Game

Do you have a goal to lose weight this year? One of the greatest challenges in life is weight loss and the struggles to finally win the battle of the budge. The fuss over weight loss has turned up many diets and fads. This article will look at one certain weight loss diet that has gained in popularity in the weight loss scene.

Why Do We Gain Weight

When a person eats bad carbohydrates and fats they feel hungrier, compelling them to eat more than they should, which produces obvious weight gain. When you eat right, you become healthier and can usually enjoy weight loss faster!

So, Whats New

If you are like many you are probably sick of trying new diets that do not work! What allegedly makes weight loss with the South Beach Diet different is that you discover a new way of life. Weight loss is really about learning to rely on the right carbohydrates and fats. Learning a new way of eating enables you to live contently without eating the bad carbohydrates and fats.

Dr. Agatston, a cardiologist, initially developed the weight loss diet for his chronically overweight heart patients. Soon, thanks to his patients' results, Dr. Agatston's diet became quiet the thing in the Miami weight loss scene.

When the book was released in 2003 it started flying off the shelves. Dr. Agatston has further released two more cookbooks and a healthy food guide. The initial book was released in soft cover in 2005. The success of these books has been phenomenal.

Here is a daily sample of a South Beach Diet.

Slim Down Quickly

If you need to slim down quickly, because of an upcoming event such as a wedding, a holiday, or you need to meet the qualifications for a particular event or program, then following the calorie shifting diet plan will help you reach your goal, at the pace of about 9 pounds every 11 days.

The calorie shifting diet is by far one of the easiest crash diets you can follow. Unlike other crash diets which require you to reduce calories, carbohydrates, or to eat only one type of food while eliminating all others, this diet plan allows you to eat as much food as you desire at each meal until you are satisfied (but not too full).

Not only that, but while on this diet, you get to eat food from all four food groups. Even better than that, this diet requires you to eat four full meals each and every day, as long as those meals are spaced out by at least 2.5 to 3 hours.

Perhaps the most riveting feature of the calorie shifting diet is that you are required to take a mandatory 3-day break from your diet every 14 days, to give your body a chance to rest from the rapid weight loss you will have been experience. Now, if you need to slim down quickly and don't have the patience to wait 3 days before resuming this crash diet, rest assured that your net weight loss will be at least 20 pounds in one month, on average.

How does calorie shifting work? How is it possible to lose 20 pounds a month while eating plentiful foods from all of the major food groups, four times a day, every day? Simply put, calorie shifting is based on the premise that you can manipulate your body's metabolism at will and induce the burning of fat by shifting the types of calories that you consume, from meal to meal. Essentially, you are simulating a sustained nutritional deficit in your body that normally triggers your metabolism's "survival" response which causes it to tap into your body's fat reserves for energy. This is achieved by withholding and reintroducing certain nutrients into and from your diet on a rotational basis.

Do you need to slim down quickly? The Calorie Shifting Diet will get you to your goal! Lose 9 pounds in the next 11 days. Learn how at: http://www.CalorieShiftingDiet.info

Walk your way to a Healthy Weight Loss

Many health practitioners recommend daily walking targets of 10,000 steps to see improvements in your health and weight. Walking is not a strenuous activity, but managing an hours walk with a healthy diet pattern can save your body from obesity symptoms. If you cannot follow the walking and diet plan, then just keep on with your walking plan. You will feel better and also see improvements in your body shape.

Walking, the right tool for the Overweight

People who are overweight or obese generally lack the determination to engage in active physical activities. They are many times referred to as couch potatoes who enjoy watching TV and doing things without moving from a particular place. Expecting them to do weight loss exercises which will have a mix of aerobics and floor exercises is asking for too much. For them walking is the best bet. When compared to all the other work outs which promote weight loss, walking is far easier. The ideal way to persuade an obese adult for an exercise is by calling him out for a walk. Begin with 15 minutes of walking everyday. And this could gradually move up to 30 and 60 minutes.

Doctors while prescribing diet pills for obesity treatment proposes walking as a form of exercise to go with it. In addition to these two a well planned diet which contains lots of fruits and vegetables will fetch excellent weight loss results. Diet pills like Phentermine are effective when combined with exercise and a good diet plan. So walking is always a value addition to any weight loss plan. Be it bariatric surgery, treatment with diet pills or popular weight loss plans like Atkins or South Beach Diet, walking when included with any of these return with admirable results.

Go walking now

Before you take those first steps take care:

  • Use the right foot ware so that you dont injure any part of your body
  • Walk fast for better results
  • Dont walk miles the first day, go slow and pick up the pace and distance
  • Once you begin and lose some pounds you would certainly want to walk everyday

Fast Bodyweight Workout Secrets

Now today I want to talk about bodyweight training. About what it can and can't do for you. And show you a few exercises as well.

On the weekend, I worked out with an ol' buddy of mine. Now Joe, my buddy, is a lawyer in the big city. He's chained to a desk, a big change from his University days of varsity sports, or his high school days working on the farm.

Now for a guy like Joe, who wasn't meant to be stuck behind a desk for 10 hours per day, bodyweight training was a real godsend.

The athletic movements were just what he needed. The challenges of mastering his bodyweight in both upper and lower body exercises was exhilarating, and liberating compared to the days he spends behind the desk.

Not surprisingly, Joe also liked my favorite exercise (the Y-squat or Overhead squat) because it opened up his chest, stretching his tight pecs, and strengthened the muscles of his upper back.

Why just tonite I did 10 reps of the Y-squat because my upper back was starting to tighten, and 4 hours later, my upper back still feels as relaxed as it does after a good night's sleep. (Just do your bodyweight squats with your arms up in a Y-position, keeping your shoulder blades back - feel the tension back there during the exercise and it will help release the stress!)

And with each new exercise, Joe would challenge his body to increase his range of motion, to "unstick himself" if you will, from the deskbound posture that he ends up with after another 50-60 hour work week (he doesn't work that much, for a lawyer).

And as I said to Joe, it is really important to get working on stuff like the Y-squats and stick-ups when he's young, so that his shoulders aren't all tied up like some of the older executives I see in the gym...that can't even lift their arms overhead...so that's why we use the Stick-up exercise with these guys.

But don't worry, it's never too late to make improvements - just be consistent with your bodyweight training. If you are in really bad shape and all twisted up, you'll have to master basic postural exercises like the Bird Dog and the Plank. Those can help take away your back pain.

If you are a desk jockey, you need to use as many different exercises and movements as possible. And the bodyweight manual, with almost 100 exercises, will challenge your strength and mobility, endurance and agility.

It will make you feel alive.

You want a quick burst of energy? Forget about Starbucks, and their drinks so loaded with caffeine that they make Red Bull look like kid's stuff. In the same amount of time (or less) that it takes you to walk to Starbucks, and order one of their ridiculously-named beverages, you could do a circuit of bodyweight exercise that will:

invigorate you
loosen you up
increase the blood flow to your brain
burn more calories and fat than any caffeine-loaded beverage ever will
improve your health
give you sustained energy boost, not a massive artificial increase in alertness followed by a crash
in your motivation that you get from caffeine

You want stress relief in less than 30 seconds? One set of 10 Y-squats or Stick-ups will give you that.

Now I do get asked a lot, "Can you build muscle with bodyweight exercises"?

And the truth is yes, but...

For some guys, they can literally build a cover model body with bodyweight exercises (I was just at a magazine photoshoot with a fitness model that does only bodyweight training and boxing and he was leaner, buffer, and better than some weight-trained fitness models)...

It all depends on where you are in your physical development...but certain exercises like Chins, Dips, Single-leg Squats, Shoulder-press Pushups, Glute-Ham Raises, and Pullups, will help you gain muscle. And you can do these at home, while on the road for business, or when you have to workout an inadequate fitness facility.

But for many other people - and I should say the majority of people, they will need some weight exercises to build muscle. (If you have the option, just start using dumbbells for as many of the bodyweight exercises as you can - you'll find you won't need much weight to gain muscle when using the 1-leg deadlifts, Bulgarian split squats, and the like).

Another popular question, "Can I use bodyweight training in place of regular interval training".

And the answer of course, is yes. If you are looking for a new form of interval training, then I recommend a 6-exercise bodyweight circuit alternating between lower and upper body exercises. Those are some kick-butt, fat-burning, get-leanin' workouts. And all can be done at home, in less time than it would take you to drive to the gym and back, let alone do your workout.

Natural Weight Loss Remedy

Contrary to popular belief, to achieve healthy natural weight loss, you don't need to jump into a dieting program. What is most important is that you change your current eating habits and develop ones which are better and more attuned to your body's natural rhythms. It must help you re-establish the natural cycle of your body imparted by Mother Nature, which may have been turned topsy-turvy due to your present eating habits. When we eat unhealthy foods, we directly upset the natural metabolism processes which are present in our body. As a result of this our bodies are unable to metabolize food efficiently and we end up putting on extra weight.

Dieting and its effects are often only temporary. It cannot be expected to succeed in the long haul. When you diet, all you do is lose the excess weight, only to gain it back gradually, later. Most diets are not designed to be such that you could realistically maintain them for the whole of your life and are just too dependent on a fixed time limit to be feasible on a long term basis.

Unlike the temporary nature of diets, healthy natural weight loss is for the better. It's a long term process that you decide to assume because your current lifestyle led to weight problems. To change your lifestyle successfully, research into the various healthy foods available and concentrate on the ones you like.

All kinds of diets don't work for all the people all the time. Everybody has different needs, so different methods of losing weight apply to each and every one of us. Even our tastes in health foods differ. What some people love, others hate.

You must get over the prejudice that food is your enemy. We cannot survive very long without food. The actual culprit is WHAT you eat and HOW MUCH of it you consume that has led to an increase in your weight. If you try losing weight through healthy natural weight loss, you won't have to sacrifice all that much.

When you decide to adopt healthy natural weight loss, though, you have got to internalize that resolve. This is the most important step for you to take. Your commitment must bind you to act on it. Once your mindset is final, you will see it automatically affect your existing eating habits which are proving bad for you. Once you accomplish this, consider half your battle against weight, won.

Exercise is a crucial aspect of healthy natural weight loss programs. You will need them to help you burn unnecessary calories. Pick the one that suits you best and that you enjoy doing. It could be jogging, walking, going to the gym, swimming, cycling, or even playing some sport regularly. Exercise is going to make you feel more healthy and alive!

You will find a lot of material on healthy natural weight loss options, so do your homework and plan your lifestyle ahead. Results are not going to appear overnight. You will need to remain committed to it and persist in it. But trust me, your mind and body are going to end up feeling a lot better and more positive than before. The positivity in your mind will be reflected in your body as well and you'll feel as good as new.

Ab Exercises Are A Joke

Burn off that belly fat with a new way of training.

Goodbye situps, hello intervals.

There's no such thing as spot reducing exercises, but according to Australian research, interval training can actually help spot reduce belly fat more than body fat anywhere else on the body, so when you do interval training and you lose fat it's mostly coming from around your abs. Interval training is a big part of Turbulence Training, obviously that means that people are going to have a great opportunity to lose belly fat and therefore see their abdominals better than ever before.

Save time by cutting the crunches out of your life.

And we only use the best exercises incorporated into a total body workout to boost metabolism and help get your abdominal muscles ready so that when you get the body fat off you'll see them.

Total body exercises can build 6-pack abs as fast as crunches. Commercial gyms make workouts easy and ineffective. So that's why we use these, what I call multi-muscle exercises, rather than sitting down in a machine type of exercises. You can burn stomach fat and get abs at home with minimal equipment.

Most people don't realize how hard their stomach is working to maintain that proper pushup position when actually doing the movement. And most of the exercises I do for the abs people wouldn't think that they are for the abs like the pushup.

People still tend to believe movements like crunches and other exercises where you're laying on your back work your abs the best. Lose your gut with short burst cardio. Screw situps. You never have to do another if you want nice abs. And you know what? The best abdominals that I ever saw on people were on athletes who had never actually done any abdominal exercises in their entire lives.

They were just very fit athletes but their sporting movements and their other training gave them the abdominals that most people want. I've trained people with great abs who have never, ever done an ab workout.

So, again, don't get too hung up on the abdominal exercises, especially the ones you see in magazines that are talking about these 30 minute ab routines. Experts like to waste your time with boring ab routines. It gives them what they want but not what they need. So, don't get hung up on the ab exercises, the crunches and that type of stuff, just focus on getting rid of that body fat and you'll be surprised at how good your abs are even without spending a lot of time on your abs.

The Weight Loss Challenge

Since the last quarter of the 20th century, the prevalence of obesity has increased sharply for both adults and children. Current studies reveal increases from 15 to over 30 percent of our current population as being obese. For children aged 2 to 5 years of age, the obesity prevalence increased from 5 to 14 percent; for those 6 to 11, there was an increase from 6.5 to over 18 percent; and those 12 to 19, obesity prevalence increased from 5 to 17 percent. Obesity begins at the home where the adult leaders teach and nurture unhealthy lifelong habits. Our society reinforces the behavior with advertising and an abundant supply of unhealthy foods. These worsening statistics prove that we need better education and guidance on the importance of healthy nutrition and lifestyle.

So unfortunately, if you are living in the developed world, you will more than likely need some help and direction with your weight control. There is a strong need for safe dieting and lifestyle restructuring. To start, you need to ask yourself some simple Yes or No questions:

Are you:

Hungry?

Overweight?

Tired?

Plagued with:

Weak Concentration?

Low Self Confidence?

Poor Health?

Poor Sex Life?

If the answer is YES, then a well-rounded healthy diet plan is just what your physician should be ordering. No more pills or unnecessary alternative medical treatments like the ones you see on television. You don't need a miracle bowel cleanse. You don't need a revolutionary diet-modifying drug.

Do you have any of the problems listed above? Do you have trouble with your weight? Are you just looking to shed a couple of pounds? Have you tried one or more diets without long-term success? You aren't alone, but one among the millions of others around the world who feel a sense of hopelessness when it comes to dieting and personal health.

The dieting industry currently yields tens of billions of dollars a year. Most claims are to help you lose weight very quickly; however, read any of the fine print under the promotional pictures of the models and you will start to see the little slogan "Results not Typical." Well, what are the typical results for dieters? For starters, 90 to 99 percent of people regain the weight and then some! Many chronic dieters spend over ten thousand dollars on dieting products during their lifetimes. Wouldn't it be nice to use that money for an investment, vacation, or that special something you've always wanted? Of course it would.

There is a serious problem in America and with most of the developed world right now. That problem is customer demand fueling the food and drug corporations. Do you think they care if you are fat or thin? Maybe the individuals working in those corporations want the best for their fellow citizens, but the truth is that these corporations are in business to make a profit. What sells better? A bland tasting super healthy burger, or a juicy, fatty, scrumptious one deep fried, covered in condiments, and wrapped in sugar dough? Most will vouch for the latter.

Like the fast-food industry, the sit down restaurants are seldom better. Let's face it; our brains and bodies LOVE refined sugars and juicy fats. Therefore, the chefs and food creators at the various establishments are pushed to create that feeling of ecstasy in your mouth with these two main ingredients. And they should. You are paying them good money to make the best tasting food you've ever put in your mouth. Furthermore, do you see many restaurant reviews on the nutritional or personal health benefits gained from eating there? Of course not, and the restaurants should not be forced to do so. However, it's always nice to see healthy alternatives on the menus as well as nutritional disclosure about the meals served.

Bottom line, you've probably tried several diets without success. You have more than likely experienced part or all of the "diet cycle." The diet cycle starts when you decide to start a diet plan or product. Then, social, mental, or family pressures and roadblocks develop and you fail. You become frustrated and depressed with your failure, which leads to a return of old habits and additional weight gain. The cycle will repeat itself, again and again, if you do not adequately prepare for success and make the necessary changes in your life sustainable to break it.

You can get out of this continuous downward sequence. You can start to reverse some of the damage you've already caused your body. You can start to promote a healthier future for you and your family. It starts with the incorporation of a healthy diet and lifestyle plan. Avoid the fads and special products, and get in touch with an weight loss expert to direct you towards success.

From Fat to Fortune - Jared's Subway Story

The story begins in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, where one Jared S. Fogle was born on 1st December 1977. Attending North Central High School, Jared was massively overweight, weighing in at 425 pounds, and reputedly sporting 6XL shirts. As a student of Indiana University, Jared roomed with a medic who diagnosed him with oedema, after which he was sent to hospital. Jared was told that his excessive obesity could lead him to the grave by age his mid-thirties if he didn't change his ways.

Realising the severity of the situation, Jared decided to take action. Intrigued by a local Subway's "7 for 6" ad campaign (which offered a menu of seven sandwiches, each with less than six grams of fat) he began a diet of a 6-inch turkey club sandwich for lunch, and a foot-long veggie sub for dinner. The diet was a success; within three months Jared had shed almost 100 pounds, and the visible reduction in his size spurred him on to begin taking regular exercise. Rather than using transport, Jared began to walk everywhere he could, choosing to take the stairs rather than the lift wherever possible. By the end of the diet, he had lost over 240 pounds, dramatically reducing his waistline and lengthening his life expectancy.

Struck by Jared's huge weight loss, a dorm-mate who barely recognised him (due to his new slim look) wrote an article about Jared for the Indiana Daily Student in April 1999. A writer for Men's Health read the article and went on to write a piece for the magazine which included a mention of the "Subway Sandwich Diet" in an article called "Crazy Diets that Work".

A Subway franchise owner in the Chicago area read the article, and went to speak to the director of Subway's Chicago advertising agency, believing the story could be used to promote the company in some way. The situation snowballed and it wasn't long before Jared was brought in to tell his story on camera, which then became a nationwide TV ad campaign.

The commercial was a huge success; the day after it was first aired, Subway's marketing director started receiving calls from USA Today, ABC News, Fox News and even Oprah. The story grew, and soon hotels in Indianapolis were full of reporters keen to meet the man who had shed so much weight by eating what was considered fast food.

It seemed that the USA - a nation famously overweight in the eyes of many countries, could relate to Jared's battle with the scales, and above all, the fact that Jared was a real person with a genuine success story, rather than some fictional advertisement. Subway reaped the rewards with sales rising by 18% that year, and a further 16% the following year.

Jared is now a well-recognised phenomenon who has been parodied on various mainstream TV shows and films, including 'The Simpsons', 'South Park', 'Scary Movie 3' and 'Saturday Night Live'. He continues to be employed by Subway as a spokesman on fitness and healthy eating.

Fitness - Built For Action

Consider: the Stone Age is now thousands of years back in the past. With every passing era, early man took changing centuries in his stride. Like all animals, he was created to be on his feet. At first, he chased, hunted. Then; he combined these activities with farming. But he remained on his feet. Upright. And when the sun set, he lay down, back and legs straight out.

The Industrial Revolution ushered in modernity. That progressive element which had crept into our lives could have been used constructively. But it only made us the sedentary animals we are today. We get out of bed to sit down for breakfast. We travel, or try to travel, on our rumps to work. Once there, we work .on our seats. Coming home is a rewind of the journey to work. Then, we sit down before the TV-VCR till the calorie-chair beckons us to dine, and sleep nods us to bed. It's truly, backside to the future.

Get the picture? The operative word, the key to our lifestyle, is sit, which even as it rhymes is, the very antithesis of fit. If we are critics of your armchair, it's with reason. If by living in the lap of luxury, man is losing his spine and finds modern life a pain in the backside, the reason often is just below him. The chair and he have conspired to be on a sit-down strike against nature.

In the process, we deaden ourselves - physically and mentally - because we don't bother to break out of our numbing lifestyle. We don't allow nature's exercise - standing, walking, bending - to revitalize our muscles. We don't allow those vital active processes to pour more oxygen into us. We are our enemies - ruining ourselves in a quiet but violent way. And as terrorism breeds in a politically criminalized society, heart attacks breed in our violated bodies.

Rebels have realised that to get politicians to hear them, they have to jolt them. It begins with asking, then shouting, and finally, physical violence. Similarly, our body begins to rebel. The symptoms are many - obesity, aches and pains and finally, the terrorism of a heart attack.

You can't afford to slow down in your life in the fast lane. So, work tensions, the philosophy of all work and no play combined with a sedentary lifestyle make you worse than a dull boy.

What happens if you leave your vehicle unused for days in the garage? The battery runs down, of course. The same thing happens to an unworked body. With more than 50 per cent of his body being muscle, today it is medical men - even more than bodybuilders - who say we are what our muscles make us.

In the course of centuries, man's evolution from the leafy jungle to the concrete one, has left him with more muscles than he normally uses. Man was built for action - not atrophy.

While our historical heritage gives us an insight into our natural selves, it is scientific know-how that adds an understanding to our perceptions. And the foundation of science itself is based on observing the simple, yet wondrous things that happen all around us.

Tips For Losing Stomach Fat Fast

Losing stomach fat is definitely possible if you choose the right exercise routine and the correct nutrition plan. Here I'm going to offer 3 important tips, which if you follow consistently, will help you burn much more fat from your mid-rift with far less effort - Now that's got to be good!

When people talk about losing stomach fat they often say that it is simply a matter of cutting daily calories and doing more exercise. Although these two things can help it is important to focus on the details if you want to lose fat fast and keep it off permanently.

I know you don't want to hear this but; if you want to lose the fat that covers your stomach, you are going to have to put in some consistent effort to change your diet and exercise so that your body can re-shape itself into something better. For most people stomach fat is the last fat they tend to lose and perversely it is also the fat we get stressed about most about.

Losing stomach fat isn't easy, but it is simple and you WILL lose it if you take my advice and have patience and determination. So here we go with 3 crucial tips to lose stomach fat pronto!

1. Cut back on any "white" carbohydrates and eliminate fried foods from your diet.

This first point is vital. If you can cut out or significantly reduce highly processed carbohydrates from you diet you will have taken your first step on the road to losing stomach fat. These types of foods are often referred to as 'white carbs', and include products made with refined flour or sugar. They are invariably calorie-rich but nutrient poor and can play havoc with your insulin and blood sugar levels. A few examples of these foods would be; white bread, pastas and breakfast cereals.

Probably the worst thing you can put into your body if you want to lose fat is soft drinks and sodas - these are basically pure refined sugar, avoid them at all costs! Cut out fried foods all together - these contain vast amounts of 'bad' fats and huge amounts of calories.

2. Boost your lean protein intake and eat more vegetables and "good" fats.

I recommend eating several times per day concentrating on smaller portions than perhaps you are used to which should contain a well balanced selection of foods if losing stomach fat is your number one goal. Try to always eat protein and vegetables with every meal and a proper nutrition plan should contain daily portions of fruit and berries.

By eating several small meals you are able to maintain your energy levels which is a massively help in sticking to any diet. Most people fail with diets because they get hungry and decide one big meal can't hurt! If you are eating regularly this doesn't happen and your body will burn more calories as it is constantly having to process what you are eating, thus raising your metabolism and helping you burn more fat. Make sure you are also including 'good' fat sources in your diet. Foods such as nuts and seeds, avocados and olive oil as well as oily fish like salmon which contains omega 3 which has huge benefit for your neurological, cardiovascular and circulatory systems.

3. Reduce your stress levels.

This point is often overlooked. To lose stomach fat you should reduce your stress levels. People who have elevated stress levels tend to produce hormones like cortisol which can make make losing stomach fat extremely difficult. The combination of quality diet, regular exercise and the right amount of sleep can dramatically reduce a persons stress and boost their energy. Not only will lowering your stress levels help you achieve your weight-loss goals quicker but it also has many other health benefits such as reducing the risk of developing serious health problems.
