Weight Loss - The Single Best Holistic Tip

Wouldnt you like to learn how to loose weight and maintain your ideal weight for the rest of your life without effort?

My single best tip to you is to stop looking for the perfect diet now and look at your life. This is a true holistic approach to weight loss.

After all, what we consider today as nutrition is really just a secondary source of energy. Lets address what all those perfect diet dont talk about, a concept called Primary Food.

Think about it for a moment.

Remember a time when you were passionately in love. Your life took another dimension. Everything was exciting. You forgot about food and were high on love and life.

Do you remember a time you were intensely involved in a project? You felt stimulated and excited. Time stopped and you forgot to eat.

What about children?

They live on primary food. They play outside and dont want to come diner. They dont want to go to bed at night and they get up excited in the morning. They dont want to miss anything. They are high on life, not on food. They are fed by excitement, play, and adventure.

While studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, Ive learned that primary foods dont come on a plate but feed us as much. Play, fun, romance, intimacy, touch, love, adventure, achievement, to name just a few, are primordial source of nourishment. They feed our soul.

Here are 4 questions that will determine how balanced and fulfilling are your primary foods.

  1. Are your relationships healthy and nourishing?
  2. Are you creating a work that you love and are excited about?
  3. Are you enjoying regular physical activity?
  4. Do you have a spiritual practice that fills you, quiets your mind, relaxes your body and/or brings you a sense of peace?

Are your primary foods balanced and fulfilling?

If so, your life feeds you, making what you eat secondary.

If not, you will tend to use secondary food as a way to compensate your lack of primary food. You will stuff yourself with secondary foods while you are truly starving for primary food.

Weight gain is one of the consequences.

I encourage you to stop looking for the perfect diet and start looking at your relationships, your work, your physical activity, and your spirituality. Secondary food, the food you eat, is certainly critical for health and happiness. However, it is these four sources of primary food that feed your soul, nourish you and will make your life passionate.

You wont even need to think about weight loss anymore!

Fast Weight Loss

Everyone seems to have a miracle answer for fast weight loss. However, few seem to ever really work. Are you wondering what the real problem is?

Problem #1: An Overburdened Liver

Let's face it. Your liver is tired, and your inability to enable fast weight loss has been hampered. So, what can you do?

You need to give your detox center a break from its incessant cleansing duties, and let it rest and heal. The first step is to take in more raw and organic foods. The foods you eat today are processed, packaged and literally filled with harmful impurities that clog up your liver, your arteries, and your fat cells. And, your weight loss goals are suffering because of it. Fast weight loss is an art, and to master it you need to make smart lifestyle choices.

Problem #2: Stagnant Fat Cells

You've now learned how harmful poor choices can be on your digestive system, but what is that doing to your fat cells and your fast weight loss goals?

I'll tell you what it's doing. Its bloating your fat cells, ruining their inter-cellular communication, and killing your fast weight loss goals. You can cure this, but you have to start your full body detox regimen immediately. This means, dropping the fast food from your diet, buying organic, eating lots of fiber, drinking lots of water, body wrapping your skin and troubled fat areas, and exercising at least twice a week.

If you follow these steps, in two weeks you will have more energy, a healthier body, and most of all, you will have some FAST weight loss.

To all of you asking questions about where to get started on a detox regimen, this is my suggestion for supplementation and body wrapping: Lose Weight Fast

Weight Loss, Or I Die

Every weight loss plan needs to be considered carefully. People in desperation have gone to ridiculous lengths in order to appear "socially acceptable" though the results most often have been "personally unacceptable" to their health. Many not wanting to go through the rigors and heartaches of a strict dietary plan, have surrendered to all types of surgeries from liposuction to gastric bypass whether or not they deem themselves to be suitable candidates for such.

Others have embraced very strict liquid diets, while others wanting to more closely align themselves with the "perfect image" of their favorite celebrities have turned to skipping meals and other sometimes downright funny tactics for losing those extra pounds.

What's the fuss anyway? I shed those extra pounds, regain my celebrity physique and my self esteem improves dramatically. Nobody knows what I suffer privately and no one else is harmed. Wait a minute? Let's get our facts straight.

Last year alone, one source reports about 4000 deaths from cosmetic surgery related cases. Statistics show a higher casualty percentage for persons above 40 years of age. The reasons for those are self evident. Our cardio-vascular system becomes progressively weake with age and our body's ability to recover from hard knocks received during surgery is severely reduced. Furthermore, of those that live after the anxieties of the surgery have passed, about 40% go on to complain about several types of heart, respiratory and emotional problems. complaints about fatigue, lowered heart rate, hypertension and the like are not uncommon among these ex-patients.

So when next you are tempted to turn to surgery ask yourself, "have I tried other natural weight loss methods", "Am I ready to deal with the medical consequences of surgery", "Is my health critically in danger", or "am I trying to be more socially comfortable", then you can decide to carry on with this line of action.

Liquid diets were once the rave in the 70's and 80's After all, you were not outrightly abstaining from food, you were just taking a better substitute. Well a closer look revealed a lot of things not so hidden. Most liquied diets tend to be high in protein and very low on fat and carbohydrates. This at first glance, seems the ideal combination for weight loss enthusiasts but then we notice something else.

After weeks of faithfully following this liquid diet plan, you begin to notice some things. Yes you have shed some pounds but then you observe that at certain times your heart beats frightenly irregularly, you have a much decreased metabolic rate, are more prone to fatigue and have grown very irritable, what happened? Here's the explanation. Our bodies require a certain percentage of calories for its normal metabolic function. These calories are derived mainly from carbohydrates and fats. When this certain percentage is exceeded, fat cells convert the excess calories in our body into fat and given enough time, consuming above this threshold we become overweight or obese. "Isn't that what we all want to avoid".

The problem with most liquid diet manufacturers is this. They think since there is so much pressure from society for a trim shape, why not drastically reduce the carb and fat content, so that rapid results can be attained in record time and people patronize us more. So what do we have, very poor fat and carb liquid diets and a host of metabolic and heart related conditions, most notably ventricular arriththmia.

But the most common weight loss misconception today is that abstinence from food, will in enough time guarantee freedom from being overweight. Teenager's routinely skip their meals and for some, anytime they feel they've overfed, privately induce vomiting, all in the name of remaining in shape.

One thing should be stated clearly here. Abstinence from food for considerable periods of time is the prime cause of gastric, duodenal and most type of ulcers. And in case you don't know it ulcers are the 10th highest killer disease in the world today. More than that, prolonged dieting has been known to shed body fat rapidly, but when such diet conditions are removed in a moderate amount of cases, certain hormones sometimes become so active, that those lost pounds return in full force and with extra to share.

The reason is pretty simple. Dieting and abstinence from food, put the body in a sort of emergency situation. Fat cells will not normally be used for metabolic activities except when the net intake of calories is much lower than what the body needs for its normal activities. It is in this "emergency situation" fat cells come into play. The body converts them into a form that can be readily converted to energy needed for life support. Once this emergency situation is removed, the body resumes its normal process of accumulating a support system in times of emergency. And this means more fat, and sometimes much more unwanted fat, due to over stimulation of fat receptors, leading to obesity.

What would help in this fight against fat? Many answers abound. Eat sensibly, watch your caloritic intake, Exercise regularly and all that. But whatever you do to win this society wide battle, carefully consider the health implications , so you might live long enough to enjoy whatever benefits you reap from your battle plan.

Weight Loss = Discipline, A Solid Plan And Consistency

Being overweight can adversely affect a person in ways other than just in their appearance. Their self-esteem suffers, this may lead to depression, the risk of health problems rises, and their overall quality of life suffers. They may also become unable to perform normal everyday activities due to the excess pounds that have to be carried around, and the strain and pain this causes to the body.

However, once that person loses those extra pounds, they experience many positive changes. This is why many people try all sorts of different weight loss techniques. They are looking for the 'magic pill' that will trim their waist lines and help them get a slim, sexy body that will turn heads.

My first suggestion for anyone seeking to lose weight is to talk to their doctor. This is very important. After getting a total physical examination, the doctor can then recommend proper weight loss techniques that does not endanger their health. The doctor can also explain to them how they can lose weight effectively and quickly by changing four parts of their life: what to eat, how to eat, their behavior and activity level.

Let me put it into perspective in a step by step manner.

First of all, if you want to lose weight quickly, there are a few things that you need to do. Make the decision that you will lose that weight. Develop an exercise regime and stick with it. Work with your doctor to establish a food plan that you can easily incorporate into your lifestyle. Set aside at least twenty minutes a day for brisk walking, running, swimming, dancing or some other type of physical activity.

Second: Make sure that your goal is realistic. The worst thing that can happen is to get discouraged. Don't decide to lose 5 lbs in one week if you don't have the ability to focus or have a proper plan in place to follow. Having these are what will enable someone on a diet to lose those extra pounds. Also, you must have the discipline to follow through on your plan.

Third: Listen to what your body tells you. Each person's body is different. Therefore, your body will react differently than mine to each weight loss program and plan. If something doesn't seem to be working for you, try something else. I.E. someone may not be able to exercise as hard as someone else, therefore each exercise program must be suitable to each person. If walking is all that can be done, then walking is the best exercise. Muscles burn more calories than fat so it's best to put on a little muscle. This will also leave you looking good.

Fourth: Eat more fiber. Fiber will make you feel full sooner, it will stay in your stomach longer and it will slow down digestion. A good source of fiber is whole grain bread. Whole grain bread speeds up the absorbtion of fat.

Fifth: Stay away from fried foods. Fried foods are high in fat content. Although white meat such as fish and chicken are leaner than beef, they can contain more fat when fried. It is recommended that those on strict diets choose steamed or cooked over fried.

Sixth: Drink at least six to eight glasses of water each day. This will help keep your body hydrated and feeling refreshed. It also flushes out your system, taking all of the poisons and waste with it. Your body needs alkaline rather than acidic liquids. Even "plain water" can be acidic if not ph treated.

Seventh: Support structures are an integral part of any successful plan. This means not only spousal or friends support, but memos that you stick on your bathroom mirror, refrigerator, in your wallet, etc. All of them should remind you of what your goal is.

To recap, the quickest way to rapid weight loss success is discipline, having a solid plan and consistency. By having the correct diet, workout regime, support and mindset working together it will bring faster results than simply dieting alone.

11 Tips to Boost Your Metabolism

Boosting ones metabolism is something many people try to achieve everyday. Having a high metabolic rate increases the amount of calories, or energy, the body burns on a daily basis. Without optimal metabolism the body will store excess calories as fat for future use. The problem for many people is they dont ever use these excess calories and as a result struggle with weight issues.

There are many factors that affect a persons metabolism including age, weight, hormonal changes, lean muscle mass, diet, genetics, stress and the amount of physical activity undertaken on a daily basis. As you can see boosting your metabolism involves many factors, but the fact of the matter is that it is relatively easy to boost your metabolism if you are committed to doing so.

Here are 11 tips to help you boost your metabolism:

1. Build lean body mass. As we age our bodies metabolism or ability to burn calories decreases. One way to offset this problem is by exercising. Lean muscle burns calories and the more you have the more calories you burn, even while resting. You can build muscle through resistance or weight training at least twice a week. You can also boost your metabolism by doing cardio exercises. You can choose to do this between or in conjunction with weight training. Simply going for a walk or using the stairs instead of the elevator are good ways to get in an aerobic workout.

2. Eat Breakfast. Many people ignore eating breakfast. What they dont realize is that its the most important meal of the day. Breakfast gives your metabolism a boost and provides a consistent energy supply throughout the day. The majority of people who eat a healthy breakfast have fewer weight and health issues than those who dont.

3. Sugar is bad. Processed and refined sugar such as found in sweets and soft drinks overload the body with sugar causing many serious health issues including obesity and diabetes. Complex carbohydrates are a better energy source because they supply an even level of blood sugar. The human body just isnt built to deal with the large amounts of refined sugar most people include in their diet.

4. Spicy foods that make you sweat can help boost your metabolism.

5. Get a good nights sleep. There is research that shows that people who do not get sufficient sleep tend to gain weight. This may be because the body uses sleep to heal and regenerate itself, including its muscular system.

6. Drink more water. Water is the lubricant of the body. It also flushes toxins out of the body and keeps the kidneys operating at maximum efficiency. This allows the liver more time to do what it does best, metabolize fat stores.

7. Eat small meals. Eat 5 to 6 small meals per day spaced 20 to 3 hours apart. This gives the body a steady supply of energy and prevents binge eating.

8. Dont miss meals. Skipping meals in order to loose weight is counter productive because it actually slow metabolism and can lead to over eating.

9. Plan your meals. If you have a daily or weekly menu you are much more likely to stick to your plan.

10. Drink green tea. Green tea has been shown to boost metabolism and unlike coffee does not stress the body with caffeine.

11. Include more high energy foods in your diet including fruits, vegetables and whole grains. These provide a more balanced energy source and will not cause blood sugar spikes.

Boosting your metabolism can be done if you are dedicated to doing it. This does not mean you need to stress over each little thing but if you eat right and exercise you should see a decrease in body fat and a much more energetic and happy you.
