A British plastic surgeons association says that male liposuction operations have grown 18 percent since last year in Britain. Our story follows actor/dancer Luke Hunderson who decides to visit a cosmetic surgeon in London.

SCRIPT:
Luke Henderson likes to look good - the 28 year-old actor and dancer knows appearances count. He's not overweight but recently turned down a part in a top musical because he felt fat.

[Luke Henderson, Actor and Dancer]:
"I didn't feel comfortable within myself of how I looked on stage. I've looked into having liposuction. I think in today's society it's quite important if you want to be successful in entertainment or musicals, you have to look good. Because, it's that old thing, you know, who wants to see a fat dancer."

Liposuction is now the second most popular procedure for men after the nose job. But it's not cheap. Liposuction will set you back around six thousand pounds or just under twelve thousand dollars.

That hasn't put Luke off. He's come to The West London Clinic to see consultant surgeon Shailesh Vadodaria.

[Shailesh Vadodaria, Plastic Surgeon Consultant]:
"How can I help you today."

[Luke Henderson, Actor and Dancer]:
"I would like, not to lose the weight because I wouldn't say I'm fat. I've gone from about a 30 up to about a 34 waist but I have, not on my arms, I'm quite happy with my, you know, facially, you know, it's not fat or anything , it's literally around my midriff and the top of my thighs, that I've put weight on."

Luke is hoping the operation will boost his career, but there are concerns that some turn to surgery for the wrong reasons.

Chartered psychologist Julie Henry came across one case where the pursuit for perfection ended in suicide.

[Julie Henry, Chartered Psychologist]:
"But I think the danger is where your internal self is feeling you could always have that bit more and you could always be that bit more gorgeous. It can lead to a kind of, possibly a kind of body dysmorphia where what ever you have done it's not somehow going to be quite good enough."

Mr. Vadodaria has accepted Luke as a suitable patient. He does have excess fat that can be removed, but first Luke must shed a few pounds himself and make sure he's certain he wants to go ahead with such a serious procedure.

Sparkpeople is the best one guys. Fitday doesnt have brands listed, but on Sparkpeople you can look different brands of items up (each brand has different numbers of calories). Also, SUPER helpful: online forums! You can join forums of people with PCOS or whatever else you can think of. We collaborate, motivate each other, share tricks and tips, and etc... check it out. ITs almost myspace-ish.
