Weight Loss Motivation Advice - The Hallmarks of Weight Loss Hype

Weight loss motivation advice is everywhere. You can find it one magazine covers, television commercials, talk shows, and from the people around you. Everyone has an opinion, special diet, or pill that will help you lose belly fat and get flat abs.

Unfortunately much of this is just plain marketing hype. Following the hype leads to frustration and failure. The net result of this that you lose all motivation to do what it really takes to lose weight. For this reason it becomes very important to discern the hype from sound weight loss advice.

Here are 5 hallmarks of weight loss hype:

1. You can lose weight fast. You can't lose 5-10 pounds per week. That's hype. Plan for 1-2 lbs. of body fat loss per week. Anything more than this is usually water loss and is quickly regained. Additionally, you may lose lean muscle mass. This will decrease your body's ability to burn calories while you are at rest.

2. You can lose weight without exercise. Crash diets and pills will not lead to the kind of weight loss that is healthy and permanent. It takes some exercise. Aerobic exercise helps you burn calories while exercising. It also helps raise your metabolic rate so that you burn more fat while resting. Strength training also helps your burn fat by building lean muscle mass. You have to move to lose belly fat.

3. You can lose weight and still eat whatever you want. If you're overweight you will need to change what and how you eat. Don't buy into any gimmicks that say otherwise. Changing your eating habits and establishing a sound nutrition plan is absolutely essential to losing weight and keeping it off. The diets that tell you to eat all of the pizza and ice cream you want and still lose weight are leading down the road of failure and frustration.

4. You can lose weight by taking this special supplement. This is really the epitome of marketing hype. These are rarely anything other than a mixture of vitamins and herbs. Don't waste your money.

5. You can lose weight by using this special machine. These are typically abs machines. Some of these machines have the potential to tone your abdominal muscles. However, if you don't lose belly fat those muscles will remain hidden. These machines will not help you create a sufficient calorie deficit to lose body fat. You're better off going for a 45 minute brisk walk and doing some push-ups.

I hope that knowing these hallmarks of hype will help you stay motivated to lose excess belly fat and get the flat abs you've always wanted.

Interesting Weight Loss Programs

Firstly, consult your local doctor, dietitian or specialist who has a weight loss program. It is commonly found at various hospitals or health care places. By consulting them, you would be able to check your weight loss tactics, and even to customize your very own weight loss program, tailored to your body.

An idiot-proof before you start would be to calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI), to make sure that you are actually overweight. After every meal, be sure to record down the number of calories and monitor closely the total calories you have taken per day. Always watch the food you eat, and especially watch out for foods which have a high amount of calories, such as fried food, ice cream, and all your usual suspects.

Also, another foolproof method that you can include in your weight loss program would be to exercise regularly. Forget about gyms or simply running. Instead, do fun sports which you love, and do it regularly. Such examples would include badminton, basketball, soccer, football, or even swimming. Form exercise groups together with your friends and peers and exercise while having fun in sporting activities. Who knows, you may even find yourself getting better and better in the sport with each time.

Remember to take action after reading this article. Start right now! Pick up a basketball and shoot some hoops, or find a group of friends to play water polo with. If you can't find anyone, your local community groups or clubs would be able to help you. Even training classes in the sports could help you to lose weight. The more enjoyable your sport is and the more important it is to you, the quicker and easier you can lose weight, and have fun at the same time.

Remember, slow and steady wins the race. A few pounds every two weeks is perfectly fine. As time grows by, you will enjoy doing sports, will feel lighter and will cherish the weight loss program.

How to Lose Five Pounds in Ten Days or Ten Pounds in Five Days!

I am about to reveal a strategy that can help you lose up to ten pounds in five days. How to lose five pounds in ten days is a great thought, but I prefer ten pounds in five days, and I am sure you do to. Here is the path to successful weight loss.

There is a strategy called juice fasting that can easily help you lose weight quickly and naturally. This is a strategy that is very healthy for your body and has a lot of other benefits.

Basically you will start with a 3, 5, or 7 day juice fast. Depending on your level of self discipline will depend on how long you can go on a juice fast. I started with a 3 day and have worked up to a 7day juice fast.

You are going to need to purchase a juicer and search online for some great juice recipes. You want all your juices to be from a very natural source and you will want to have plenty on hand. Juice fasting is when you only drink juices, water, and tea for a specific amount of time.

This is great for the body and great for weight loss. I have dropped as much as 12 pounds over a 7 day period with a juice fast. It is very healthy to lose weight this way and when you go back to regular eating your appetite will be curbed, which will allow you to cut more weight and keep it off.

As always make sure to consult your doctor before you start a new diet or workout plan. While juice fasting do mainly aerobic exercise and make sure to take a whole food vitamin. Also, make sure to get regular sleep and plan for a short nap the first day or two. It won't be easy, but you can do it.

The Magic Weight Loss Button

Have you noticed how so many people are looking for "the magic weight loss" button? Something instant. Something magical. Something that produces MASSIVE change with NO time or effort. Whenever I go to the supermarket I always grab the National Inquirer and read it while I'm in line. It usually sparks some fun conversation with the cashier. I use to ridicule these type of magazines, but more recently I began reading (not buying) them with a watchful eye. Here's why: these magazines reflect human behavior in it's rawest most primitive form.

The truth is that these magazines are HUGE sellers. It costs TONS of money to advertise in these magazines and the only way any company is going to advertise in these magazines and CONTINUE to advertise in these magazines is if they're making lots of money. Makes sense right? Well, what kind of weight loss ads will you find in there? Magic button ads. That's what sells right? NO effort, no time, but BIG, life changing results. These are the magazines that the masses of people are buying. And by the way, I don't mean to sound condescending like I'm "too good" for these magazines. Truth is, I think they're kind of funny but I guess we all have a little bit of, shall we say..."curiosity" (nosiness) in us.

HERE'S THE POINT: Look at the bodies of the masses of people. The people who are buying these magazines and buying what's advertised in them. It fascinates me how people well into their 40's and 50's will still blindly purchases these products off of t.v that promise overnight results. Do you want to know what the REAL secret is? It's continued (forever) learning. It's applying that knowledge through action and continuing to change that action until you get a desired outcome.

This is when you begin to KNOW, with absolute certainty, exactly how to be in 100% control of the way your body looks and feels. Look, I'm not implying that losing weight is extremely hard and time consuming. Not at all. But there is no magic button. And if you believe there is (instead of truly educating yourself with the facts - that you KNOW work) then you'll be like the millions who simply continue to deny reality but get no results. It's like continuing to buy get rich quick schemes that promise overnight riches with no work.

Am I being harsh? Maybe.

Am I being honest, because I TRULY want you to breakthrough to the body you deserve?

Always.

Look at the show "the Biggest Loser" for example. Are you familiar with it? I really haven't seen too many episodes and quite frankly I think it's actually kind of boring (even though I think the stories are very inspiring.) But, take a look at these people. Are they making these dramatic changes by exercising 7 minutes a day three times a week?

I don't think so.

Here's the best part: once you know EXACTLY what needs to be done to live in your ultimate body, then you can make the journey as fun as enjoyable as possible. You can make the exercise as short as possible. You can make the food taste as good as possible. You can splurge and eat unhealthy as much as possible. Do you understand what I'm saying?

When you know (through personal education) exactly what needs to be done then you know exactly what you can get away with.

And then you're not stressed out in the least. It's like a big game and you already know that your going to win. After all, you know the rules. This is what living life lean is all about. And trust me, it's easier than might you think. And it's a ton of fun.

But you don't get here by pushing a button.

Weight Loss Check List - 3 Essential Tips To Keep You On Track

Its the little things that matter when you are trying to lose weight. Most diets require a person to make extreme changes in their lifestyles. This is why people fail. However, you can make some adjustments in your life that will help you to lose weight in a healthy and easy fashion by following a couple of the following tips.

1. Keep track of your beverage consumption. The calories from what you drink add up. A full sugar can of cola has close to 200 calories in it. If you multiply that 200 calories by 30 (days in a month) then you have 6000 calories that month just from drinking one can of cola a day. When you exceed your bodies needs for calories beyond 3500 calories, you gain a pound. Conversely, if you consume 3500 less calories, you lose a pound. This means that you can lose close to 2 pounds every month by leaving that can of cola out of your diet. The same holds true for other soft drinks.

2. Get moving every day: You dont have to engage in a formal exercise program to fit exercise into your life.
-Try to walk as often as possible. Bring your lunch to work and go for a walk at a park, mall or shopping center during your break.
-Always take the stairs, even if you take them for just a few floors.
-If you are in a waiting room and have a long wait, get up and walk around.
-Get up and move while you watch television. Get up during every commercial and jog or skip in place or do a couple of abdominal exercises.
Remember that your body continues to burn calories for a few after you stop exercising.

3. Program yourself to lose weight. You need to engage the power of your mind to help you to lose weight. Consider the priority that food has in your life and to shift that. Try to visualize your body losing weight. When you wake up in the morning, affirm that you are going to integrate some healthy habits into your day.

Remember, there are a number of small changes that you can make in your life to lose weight. With a couple of easy adjustments, you may lose up to 20 to 30 lbs. a year.

Permanent Weight Loss: 5 Simple Steps

Have you ever noticed that diets dont work? Oh, sure, you may lose weight, but it boomerangs right back, and with a vengeance. Then you feel guilty, weak, frustrated, and like a hopeless failureone more time.

Diets are designed to fail. They are too restrictive, too loaded with fat and cholesterol, and too empty of life-saving nutrients.

Besides that, they leave you hungry.

Guess what? You cant fight your hunger drive. Just like your thirst instinct, your hunger instinct keeps you alive, and it will win every time. If youre hungry, sooner or later youll eat, and often the very same foods that trap you in the layers you hate.

How about jumping off the diet-go-round and trying this. Fill-up on the best-for-you foods first that are calorie-low (yeah! permanent weight loss) and nutrient-dense to prevent scary diseases like cancer, diabetes type 2, heart disease, and strokes: whole, unrefined fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans, our health heroes and disease warriors.

Here are 5 simple guidelines to losing weight forever:

1. Think addition, not subtraction. Dont go to that place of deprivation, like having to give up meat.

2. Add 10+10 again and again. Get those fresh fruits and vegetables in you every day.

3. Fill-up on premium foods before eating other foods. Dont even think about which foods you may naturally gravitate away from because you simply dont have enough room in your stomach or the desire (believe it or not) to eat them.

4. Ask yourself, Does this food feed me or deplete me? If you dont know, just ask yourself, Which foods prevent cancer? Answer: whole, fresh fruits and vegetables. Okay, then eat them FIRST! Remind yourself that there are choices and consequences.

5. Follow the Dr. Leslie Casual/Dress-Up Rule or 80/20 Rule. Eat impeccably 80% of the time and the rest of the timedont worry about it.

Satisfy your hunger drive and your desire to get down to the size you long to be. Feel good about YOUonce and forever!

Is Hoodia Safe?

What are hoodia side effects? Is hoodia safe? Dieters want to know. There is no short answer to this question. Known hoodia side effects amount to nothing more than thirst suppression, requiring dieters to drink water, even when they are not thirsty. But, is hoodia safe? It should be. Other succulents like aloe provide the active ingredients in many patented medicines and are considered safe for most people. If hoodia side effects are similar to those of aloe, then it should not be used by pregnant women. Aloe increases menstrual flow and is used to treat amenorrhea, which is a lack of menstrual periods in women of child-bearing age.

There are several reasons that it is difficult to answer the question; is hoodia safe. Clinical research has not been completed. The available research supports claims by the health supplement industry concerning appetite suppression. There is also evidence to support the statements concerning increased energy and metabolism. What the research can not do is provide an absolute answer to questions about hoodia side effects and safety. It is understandable that dieters are cautious. It has not been long since ephedra was removed from the market and memories of Fen-fen related deaths are still fairly fresh in the publics mind. It is difficult to recommend a product when so little is known about it. But, one thing is certain, hoodia is not a stimulant.

Most appetite suppressants contain stimulants. If an overweight person is about to purchase an appetite suppressant, then the answer to the question; is hoodia safe, should be answered a little differently. Hoodia side effects do not include any of those associated with stimulants. It does not increase heart rate or blood pressure. If a person is deciding between hoodia and a product containing a stimulant, then the safest choice is hoodia.

Phytopharm is the company that is best suited to answer the question; is hoodia safe. Phytopharm was the first company to work with the scientists at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Africa. Phytopharm states that, ...the safety data are consistent with a satisfactory overall safety profile... Phytopharm is still conducting research concerning hoodia side effects and is not yet ready to release its patented product, but has invested millions of dollars in creating hoodia plantations in Africa. This seems to indicate that they believe the outcome will be positive.

In March 2006, Consumer Reports concluded, Given the very scanty evidence that hoodia works and the even scantier evidence that its safe, particularly for long-term use, we do not recommend the use of hoodia-based weight-loss products. It is difficult to understand why consumer reports would make such a broad statement. For one thing, most dieters would not need to use hoodia on a long-term basis, so hoodia side effects related to long term use are irrelevant. For another thing, Consumer Reports does not make similar statements relating to weight loss products containing stimulants. In these articles, they state that stimulant containing appetite suppressants should only be used by otherwise healthy individuals. This would be a more unbiased statement. The Consumer Reports article may lead individuals to believe that, no is the answer to the question; is hoodia safe. When in actuality, there is no evidence of adverse hoodia side effects and no evidence suggests that hoodia is not safe.
