Goal Setting Tips for Weight Loss

You can lose fat forever by using goal achievement strategies. This isn't motivational fluff. This is hands-on change your mindset for success secret information.

I interviewed Dax Moy for a special report called, "Mastering the Fat Loss Mindset" and he shows you how to achieve your fat loss goals for good! Here's Dax Moy talking about goal-setting for weight loss. Use his tips and tricks to help you stick to your plan for good!

"What is it that you actually want? What is it that you actually want? Not, what will you settle for, what seems realistic.

What is it that you actually truly want if I were to wave a magic wand in front of you right now and say okay, in 2008 all of your dreams are going to come true and given you already, in relation to your body, how it's going to look, how it's going to perform, how it's going feel, then what would you ask for right now with magic wand in hand?

And that is really the goal that people should be setting for themselves. That's really the goal that people should be attacking when the new year comes in certainly.

And that's really the only type of goal that's going to hold enough power to keep you on the straight and narrow for long enough. Because when you feel really passionate about something, things don't feel like an effort. We all know that. We've all read books that we absolutely love, and we get lost in the time and we can't believe it's, we can't believe that four hours have been gone by while you've been reading.

It's no different with any form of a passion. When you are truly moving toward a passion, when you are truly enjoying what you doing and you can really see where the potential benefits of pursuing that passion lie you'll stay on track.

If, on the other hand you set a goal that's smaller because someone has told you what you've, what you're asking for is unrealistic, the chances are in that moment where they've told you that you are being unrealistic, what they also did was, was beat a huge chunk of your passion around the head with a rubber mallet and actually told you to stop being silly. Don't invest so much passion into this and hey, just focus on the smaller goal.

That's the best way to fail, and I think that's one of the biggest reasons why a lot of people do fail."

Powerful words! Dax has given you an incredible plan for Mastering the Fat Loss Mindset. By doing so, you'll be prepared for all of the obstacles in your way as you work towards weight loss.

So stick to your plan through proper goal setting. Start by identifying exactly what you want. Don't settle for less. Aim high, and then adjust your mindset to achieve permanent weight loss.

Healthy Weight Loss - Eat More & Burn More, Not Starve

If I tell you that very low calories diets cannot work long term, would you believe that "trash"? But if the truth be told, low calories diets are actually quick fixes that eventually lead to weight regain. The first secret to permanent fat loss is to "burn the fat" and "starve the fat". Some exercise physiologists today, call this concept "energy flux." A very subtle way of saying, "Eat more, burn more," (instead of "eat less, exercise less"), and this is what the Burn the Fat philosophy is all about.

The laws of energy balance and thermodynamics state that you have to consume fewer calories than you burn. But this is not any thing near starvation diet. Starvation diet may work in the beginning, because there's a HUGE calorie deficit at first, but then, the body response puts an end to weight reduction. The body has an inbuilt defensive mechanism.

When the body is malnourished, as is the case with weight loses through starvation program or dieting, the metabolic rate slows down in order to protect the body. This is called "the starvation response." This puts paid to any further weight lose but where success is recorded, belong long, you notice weight regain because some persons quit dieting.

Starvation or dieting programs for weight lose has the following consequences:

The body releases fewer fat-releasing and fat-burning enzymes such as hormone sensitive lipase and lipoprotein lipase.

The fat cells release less of the hormone leptin, which is the signal that tells your brain you are well fed and not starving (it's the "anti-starvation" hormone) Fat burning hormones crash, including your levels of T3 which is the active form of thyroid hormone, the important "metabolism-regulating hormone". Lose of muscle. Muscle is metabolically-active tissue. This means that the muscle takes a lot of energy for keep. "Starving," means you're in an "energy crisis", so muscle becomes nonessential, making your body cannibalize your own lean tissue.

Appetite hormones rage out of control: when you starve, a part of your brain called the hypothalamus switches into high gear and flips the appetite switch, sometimes to the point where you become ravenous and cannot fight these physiological cravings with willpower.

Fact:

It's hormonally, metabolically and physiologically impossible to achieve permanent fat loss by starving yourself. And, it is pretty unhealthy thus. In the long run, very low calorie diets can actually make you fatter. This is so because they eventually lead to binge eating and weight re-gain. And then, you end up with less muscle and a slower metabolism than when you started. But this is the gladdening truth. You DON'T have to starve yourself to get a perfect bikini shape body. In fact, you can eat more and burn more fat.

Best Exercise for Weight Loss

As much as we would like to think differently, you still cannot lose weight without increasing your physical activity. Exercising in some form will help to burn calories that would have otherwise been converted into fat and extra weight. This is why you need to devise an effective workout plan that will fit into your abilities and interests. Any exercise is better than no exercise. And the very best exercise for weight loss is consistency of the exercise you enjoy the best.

Most people don't really like to exercise. For them, it seems too much like work. And it is work, but it does not have to be tedious work. There are ways to exercise doing things that you love to do.

First, you need to choose an activity that you enjoy. Do you like riding your bike as the sun sets in the sky? Maybe swimming is more your idea of fun. Even a good round of golf can be a great form of exercise - but only if you leave the cart in the cart barn!

Once you find that activity, you need to pursue it at a minimum of three times a week for at least 30 minutes at a time. The more you exercise, the more calories you will burn and the more weight you will lose.

Start slowly then increase your level when you feel stronger until you are at a point where you think you are at a high level of intensity. It is okay to rest at intervals to recharge your batteries, but get back up to that level again until your workout is complete.

The ideal exercise plan is going to involve some form of aerobic exercise sustained for 30 minutes at a time. This could be in the form of an aerobic class or something as simple as taking a walk. This will get your heart pumping effectively so that your body can burn the calories that you have consumed!

When should you do this type of workout? Believe it or not, first thing in the morning is the best time to perform your cardio workout for best results.

We want to tell you that the important part about exercise is that you get out and do it! No matter when you exercise, you will burn fat and calories as long as it is a good workout. Remember that the best exercise for weight loss is the one that you enjoy the most because this is the one that you are most likely to stick to.

5 Tips To Healthy Weight Loss

If you are reading this then I assume that your goal is to lose weight and become healthy. In order to accomplish this you need a plan that you can adhere to. This plan should not be either a crash diet or a fad diet. What you want to create are lifestyle changes, or habits, that will last a lifetime. These lifestyle changes must be reasonable. If they are not reasonable you will not be able to keep them up. That is why it is crucial that you develop a realistic plan that you will stick with and in turn you will lose weight and improve your health. You will be surprised that the smallest changes in your lifestyle can make the biggest difference in how you act and feel.

Examine your daily eating habits. Think about the ones that are doing you harm. It is nearly impossible to break bad habits. The only realistic method to break these bad habits are to replace them with good habits. In reflecting on the foods and habits that have negative consequences, consider replacing them with foods and habits that will have the desired, positive results. In other words, instead of merely giving up the offending foods, what can you replace them with?

The following are some habits which you may consider changing. The key here is to replace the bad habit with a good habit in its place. These changes should be permanent. The question that you should ask yourself is "Can I maintain this for the rest of my life?"

One of the biggest problems contributing to being overweight and unhealthy is eating fast food. I realize this is difficult and seems silly, but this is a habit that should be cut out completely. Fast food places provide food that is rich in fat, sodium and additives. If this is something that you do frequently and eliminate from your routine, this one change in itself will produce some remarkable results. Either choose a healthier place to eat or bring your lunch with you.

I don't buy the recommendation of drinking lots of water. Your body is not a plumbing system. It does not have to be flushed out. You should drink only when thirsty, and for the time being it should be either water or unsweetened tea. One way to accomplish this is to eat less sodium and thereby being less thirsty. As for drinks that are artificially sweet; in my view they are bad for your health. Anything bad for your health will make your progress that more difficult.

Cut out all snacks that are either artificially sweetened, have sugar or too much salt. Substitute fresh fruit or whole grain products (bread or crackers) with all natural fruit spread (no sugar).

Someone had the bright idea in the recent past that several smaller meals are better than three regular meals per day. Honestly, who comes up with this stuff? Eating more smaller meals means never giving your digestive tract the chance to digest what you eat. My thinking is this; three good, wholesome meals per day. You can eat as much as you wish providing that you are sitting down and chew your food extremely well. If you find yourself hungry between meals then eat some fruit or raw vegetables.

And, of course, there is the magical ingredient in any weight loss program - exercise. Joining a gym is fine for many people, but I prefer organic exercise. What I mean by that is something you do outdoors, something that is natural. You can walk, jog, swim or ride a bicycle. What you what to do is oxygenate your blood and get your heart rate up, so 45 minutes to an hour would be ideal. Starting in the morning at the beginning of your day is the best time to do this.

Of course it is not uncommon for most people to associate weight loss with being hungry. Here is a surprise, you do not have to be hungry to lose weight. The truth is that eating regular meals and being satisfied will help you to obtain your goal. A healthy weight loss regimen does not involve starving. When you lose weight in a healthy manner, it is permanent.

Get Thinner Fast

Four Ways to Win

THE RIGHT FOOD, AT THE RIGHT TIME, IN THE RIGHT AMOUNT, WITH THE RIGHT EXERCISE

I am a 35 year old 250 pound female (one month ago I was 260 pounds). I have battled with weight loss from the age of eight years old. After reading and researching and implementing I recognized a few things needed to win the battle and I will share them with you.

DO NOT hate your fat cells. They are wonderful. They are designed for an important function. They make fat from sugar and fatty acids. If they need more room for storage space, they expand. If they need still more, they make new cells and fill them with fat. They are marvels at storing energy in the form of fat. Its their specialty. In one pound they can store 3,500 calories, though the liver can pack only 250 calories in a pound of its energy-storage medium, glycogen.

Fat cells receive and obey signals. They cushion vital organs. They release their energy upon demand, supplying it as fuel for the bodys working cells. At times they receive emergency signals and spring into action. When sent life-threatening messages, they take lifesaving measures. They start hoarding their fat, holding it in reserve for the impending crisis.

It is now clear that fat plays an important, though incompletely understood role, in the bodys immune system. Fat cells can receive a false message and misinterpret it as a crisis; a crash diet may send fat cells the same message as would famine or starvation. Instead of fat breaking down, it is actually conserved, curtailing the release of calories to a trickle. But the fat cells have no way of knowing the difference. They react as they were designed to react. They hoard their energy for what they foresee as a future and more crucial need than the present. Parents magazine for March 1987 offers a possible explanation: The more often you dietthe more frequently your body senses youre gearing up for a faminethe more resistant the fat cells become to releasing their precious commodity. The body intervenes to cope with the current crisis by turning muscle into glucosethe brain must have its glucose or the whole organism will close shop! But you do not want to lose muscle; you want to lose fat. Crash diets are not the winning way. Then what is? The winning ways, plural, are: the right food, at the right time, in the right amount, with the right kind of exerciseand the right mental attitude. The dieter himself must be in the drivers seat. Whether you reach your goal or not is up to you.

Some nutritionists are now coming around to the conviction that the body has less tendency to accumulate fat deposits if meals are eaten more frequently and served in smaller portionswithout a reduction in the daily food intake. They have also found that the meal which is most important and should therefore make the largest caloric contribution to a persons day is breakfast. Eat a variety and eat enough. You have learned what will happen if you panic the fat cells by stingy eating! On a weight-loss experiment, rats were given only one meal a day. During the study, their enzymes responsible for depositing fat increased tenfold. The report said: It was as if their bodies were saying, The minute more food comes along, Im ready to lay down extra fat just in case this stress happens to me again! So if you have to diet, dont make the mistake of fasting or eating just one meal a day (essentially a 23-hour fast).

In any effective weight control program, exercise is essential. Regularity of exercise is more important than intensity.Conns Current Therapy.

Spot the triggers that start you eating when you shouldnt. Know the excuses you use to weaken your good resolves. Say no to them immediately! Reject them angrily! Win the war, lose the fat, cherish the victory!

Are You Over Weight? Want To Get Rid of That Extra Fat? Take a Look at This

I know how it feels to be an obese. I know that it really hurts you when you can wear nice designer clothes and go out with your friends; I know that it really hurts when you walk on streets and people look at you and make fun. Don't worry. I will take you on a journey of exercises and diet which will surely help you lose that extra pound.

I had read some where: "Love It or Hate It Lets Motivate Each Other to Do IT". It means to get motivated to workout more on the process to lose weight. Stick to a decision that you will lose weight in whatever way you thought of and will end up looking slim, fit and healthy.

Here are few tips and suggestions on exercises and nutrition:

The first thing that comes to my mind when I talk about losing weight is nutrition. You have to prepare your self on diet and nutrition for the rest of your life or there is a high chance of gaining that weight you had lost.

Cut off that high calorie and fast food. If you don't, you will not only put on extra weight but will also end up in many heart related problems. Completely reduce the intake of fat food from your daily meals. If you feel hungry and want to eat something all the time then grab an apple or an orange instead of a chocolate bar or a bag of chips. Avoid fat, sugar and alcohol in every way you can. Remember that many foods include hidden fat and sugar (eg: chocolate, full cream ice-cream). And the most important of all is to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to stay fit and hydrated.

The second most important thing is exercises. Using exercises to lose weight can be a little tricky but with proper guidance and help you will surely see yourself very fit and healthy in future.

BE ACTIVE: I mean to say go on a brisk walk after your day's activities. It is a great way to burn off that rich dinner you ate! Take the stairs instead of elevator in your office and any other buildings you visit. Go on a short jog in the mornings or evenings. Swimming, skipping, running and some simple push-ups can also be a great exercise.

NO RIGOROUS ACTIVITY: Though aerobics and heavy exercises help you to lose that extra pound quickly, but they are not always recommended as you get too tired and at times become very restless.

Regular physical exercises are a part of effective weight control. It helps to control your weight by using excess calories that otherwise would be stored as fat.

Simple workouts like pushups, cardio, weight lifting, brisk walking, jogging and dancing (till you sweat) can help you a lot in reducing weight. And the most important of all is warm-ups. Do not forget to warm-up before and after your workouts as it helps in a good blood circulation process.
